The global population has been rising at unprecedented levels, and that has affected many societies and economies along with the environment. 1. Declining Mortality Rates
Declining mortality rates have been one of the primary causes of the ever-increasing population of the world. Advances in medical technology, health care, and living conditions have markedly decreased death rates, especially in underdeveloped countries. Vaccinations, antibiotics, and better maternal care have all contributed importantly to increased life spans.
2. Increased Food Production
Advanced agricultural techniques, high-yield crop varieties, and the intensive use of fertilizers and pesticides marked the Green Revolution of the 20th century, which has increased food production and reduced hunger and malnutrition.
